Yeah, that's offensive... and so was this guy.
Today, while sitting down to lunch at a nice little Mexican restaurant, I had the displeasure of being forced to listen to an insufferable jerk - i.e. an asshole. If I'd had a camera with me, I'd have taken a picture of the asshole. Why do I call him an asshole? Because that's what he was. By the way, he was also a Network Marketer - the kind that gives our industry a bad reputation.
What made him an asshole? THE INCREDIBLY ANNOYING VOLUME OF HIS LOUD/RUDE/BARKING VOICE.
When you walk into a restaurant for a meal, you expect to relax and enjoy your food. What you don't expect (or want) is some loud-mouthed salesman with a lap-top computer and a BOOMING VOICE to be talking, and talking, and talking, and talking to some 'prospect' during your entire lunch break - in a way where you can't shut him out of your ears. You see, this guy wasn't putting on all the theatrics to sell his embarrassed prospect. He was attempting to sell the entire, unwilling restaurant.
You don't do this business that way.
A part of me - a very big part of me - wanted to confront the asshole, on behalf of myself and all the other suffering diners. In the end, I didn't do it - though I think I would have received a standing ovation if I had. Seriously, you don't have to be a rude, inconsiderate, disruptive and disrespectful jerk in order to present a proper and honest Network Marketing business plan. If it's the real thing, you can basically whisper it... just like a prayer.
I would never ever do anything like that - NOT EVER. That was totally disgusting. Man, it made me mad... (in case you can't tell)

Overcoming the fear of success
Fear is a very powerful motivator. It's a natural part of our survival instinct! But it's also a learned habit. Have you looked around at children and watched how they seem to be fearless in so many more situations than we are. They will walk up to perfect strangers and say, “Hi!”, while we (on the other hand) are standing back, almost afraid to walk up with them to say, “Hello!”. I think we have been trained through our lifetime to let fear dictate who we are and what we do. I am sure fear of poverty and fear of health issues drive us to want something better for our lives and for our families, but that same fear keeps us from getting what we want. For far too many people considering an Organo Gold coffee business, this seems to be the case. If you've been afraid to start, or you started and quit (out of fear and procrastination), you're not alone. Remember that.
Everybody 'wants' to build a big down-line in Organo Gold. In fact, everybody 'wishes' for money and/or more of it. But when it comes to passing out coffee samples, picking up the phone and calling someone, or following up with someone, there is always something else that takes our attention. How many times have you gone to bed thinking “I’m going to do this tomorrow! Now is the time!” and you get so excited that you can hardly go to sleep! So many great ideas are going around in your mind that you want to get up and do something NOW! Then, as you wake the following morning, you are so tired from the lack of sleep you start making up reasons to put off what you were excited about. “I’ll just sleep one more hour and then get on it! I’ll take a shower and then make some calls!”
Does that sound familiar?
I'll say it again. You are not alone! To me these are natural actions because of the ways we have been “trained” to live. Habits that were formed over a long period of time can be changed, but it takes time and focus to reverse them! I have seen this with me and my Organo Gold business! I have changed the habits by doing something every day that I was uncomfortable with so that I could get back to that childhood fearlessness. Don’t give up! Don’t quit! And most important of all, don't be afraid to start!
You got yourself into this and you can get yourself out! Don’t look too far ahead! Take each day at a time and you can accomplish GREAT THINGS! Napoleon Hill stated, “Fears are nothing more than a state of mind.” He also said, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” What are you believing? Start believing the positive and remove the negative from your thinking process!
Decide to change your life!
Any day we wish, we can discipline ourselves to change it all. Any day we wish, we can open the book that will open our mind to new knowledge. Any day we wish, we can start a new activity. Any day we wish, we can start the process of life change. We can do it immediately, or next week, or next month, or next year.
We can also do nothing. We can pretend rather than perform. And if the idea of having to change ourselves makes us uncomfortable, we can remain as we are. We can choose rest over labor, entertainment over education, delusion over truth, and doubt over confidence. The choices are ours to make. But while we curse the effect, we continue to nourish the cause. As Shakespeare uniquely observed, “The fault is not in the stars, but in ourselves.” We created our circumstances by our past choices. We have both the ability and the responsibility to make better choices beginning today. Those who are in search of the good life do not need more answers or more time to think things over to reach better conclusions. They need the truth. They need the whole truth. And they need nothing but the truth. We cannot allow our errors in judgment, repeated every day, to lead us down the wrong path. We must keep coming back to those basics that make the biggest difference in how our life works out. And then we must make the very choices that will bring life, happiness and joy into our daily lives. And if I may be so bold to offer my last piece of advice for someone seeking and needing to make changes in their life: If you don’t like how things are, change it! You’re not a tree. You have the ability to totally transform every area in your life. And it all begins with your very own power of choice. ~Jim Rohn

'No' means you're doing it right with Organo Gold
When you first launch your Organo Gold coffee business, how well you handle “No” will be a critical factor in determining your success. The fact of the matter is that people are going to tell you “No” all the time. It's going to happen a lot and don't worry about it. If you have any kind of sales background, you’re probably already used to it. You know that not everybody is going to buy from you so you just get past the “no” and move on to find the next “yes”.
That's how it works.
But if you are new to network marketing, sales, and prospecting, rejection can be quite a shock. You're getting ready to join the Organo Gold movement and you just KNOW that everybody is going to want to get involved, right? But then you'll start hearing it. The dreaded rejection. It will come from friends. It will come from family, it will come from co-workers and it will come from people that you've done business with before.
So get ready for some straight-talk. Here it is: You need to make up your mind, RIGHT NOW, that you are going to learn how to handle rejection if you ever want to experience success that goes beyond having a “good job” (whatever that is). The first step is to realize that hearing the word “no” won’t kill you. It may sting a little when you first start your coffee business, but it definitely won’t kill you. Recognize that “no” is just their initial defensive reaction or it may just be a way of them saying “not now”. The key is: Don’t take it personally! In this business, we get paid to follow the process. “Yes” is a part of the process. “No” is a part of the process. Learning to not become emotionally attached to either response is very important to your success. That's very, very important to remember - don't be emotionally involved with whether or not somebody in particular isn't interested in this coffee business.
Seriously, don't be afraid.
The second step is to learn to ask the right questions when you talk to someone about our coffee. You'll get fewer "no's" that way. All that you really want to do is simply find out if people are OPEN to making some extra income or in trying your product or service. If they are not open to the idea of picking up some extra income or in trying the coffee (or tea), MOVE ON! End or change the conversation! That’s it. Every second you spend trying to convince someone to try your product, listen to your presentation, is time you are wasting. You can’t help people that don’t want help. So spend your time looking for people that DO want help! Believe me … they are out there by the millions!
And understand this: Today’s “no” can often become tomorrow’s “Put me in. I need something to change!”. I’ve often had people come back to me months later, asking “Are you still in that thing? How’s that working?”.

Successful network marketing professionals focus on 2 steps:
1. Finding out if a prospect is open.
2. Finding out if the next prospect is open.
______________________________________________________________________________
That’s it. That's all there is to it. When you find someone who is open, it’s time to let Organo Gold’s system take over. We have a proven model, that we are teaching you, that shows you how to get someone to the next step. This includes showing them how to get more information, making sure they get a sample, attend the next webinar, etc…
What are some of the ways you can find out if someone is open?
That's because what you think about, you bring about.
Additionally, spend time on personal development. The actual “nuts and bolts” of this business are really very simple. The hardest work you will do will be on yourself. Read books on self development, the industry of network marketing, success stories. These can all be very helpful in shaping your mindset and helping you build confidence as you become a network marketing professional with Organo Gold.
Learning to practice emotional detachment has really helped me. I’m not emotionally invested in their response, nor do I care what they think about me. I don't mean that in a negative way. I'm just saying that what other people think about me or what I'm doing is none of my business. I just want to ask folks to find out if they are ready to have the next conversation about coffee, that's all. If they are not, I’m sure we’ll talk again in the future. Take that attitude and you'll be just fine.

- Ask! “Are you open to the idea of making some extra money from home?”
- Ask! “Do you know anyone who would like to …. ?”
- Ask! “Who do you know that is looking for … ?”
- Online Advertising can also help. It's not the best way, but it can certainly help. People can view your ads or blog 24/7, no matter where you are. If they are not open to what you are offering, they just go on to look at another ad or another web site. They don’t call you or email you to say “No”. Most of the people you hear from are going to be at least interested in learning more. This reduces the amount of time you spend handling rejections, personally, and helps you focus on following up with people that are at least a little bit interested in learning more about the Organo Gold coffee business.

How to sell your MLM opportunity
First of all, 'MLM' (aka Network Marketing) isn't a dirty word. But like used car dealerships, the concept has aquired sort of a bad reputation over the past few decades. That's completely unfair, but it's just the way it is. So when you are selling your MLM opportunity to someone new, here are a few fundametals of selling to keep in mind. Remember them, and you'll do just fine:
Listen closely: When you walk into a car lot (furniture store, clothing store, etc.) and the salesman approaches you, what is the very first thing he or she usually does? Typically, it is to ask you some seemingly innocent questions. You know, such as... "What is it that you're looking for?" "How much do you want to spend?" Maybe they'll engage in polite conversation about the weather or whatever. But it’s not just small talk. Experienced salespeople will listen closely to your answers, knowing that doing so will help them find your sweet spot. Ironically, sales is not about talking someone into something, that never works. Ever try 'selling' a kid on cleaning her room?
Rather, it’s about finding out what they want or need and then showing them that what you have to offer satisfies that need or want. You find out what they need, and therefore what approach to take, by listening carefully.
Say as little as possible: Let them do the talking. Show some self-control and don't say much. A lot of people will actually sell something and then unsell it by not knowing when to shut up! When you are not talking, you are listening (see above). With Organo Gold, for example, average people are trained to be 'sales people' by the use of a simple (and very short!) script. That short script - i.e. 'the four questions' - has created 26 millionaires since 2008. But it involves very little talking.
Don't try so hard: Overselling, making grand pronouncements, making exagerations, and not trusting your product or pitch enough to leave the customer alone for a while, makes you look 'needy'. No one likes needy people. It’s like that boyfriend or girlfriend you once had who just couldn’t leave you alone. You finally left them alone, right? The reverse is true when you're trying to 'get' the girlfriend or boyfriend. Trying too hard gets you nowhere.
The same is true in sales. When you look, act, or sound needy (or worse, desperate!), potential customers are turned off. Trust yourself and your product enough to not oversell, and know when to back off. To bastardize a perfectly fine axiom: "When you love a customer, let him go. If he comes back, he’s yours, if he doesn’t, he never was yours in the first place."
Sometimes, you do need to push a little bit: This is more art than science, and that's why practice makes perfect. Whether it is helping the undecided to finally get off the fence, or explaining to a prospect why they need to act now, you have to know when a gentle push can make a difference. If your push has their best interest in mind (rather than yours) it won’t look like pushiness.
Ask for the sale: Similarly, there comes a time to ask for the sale, to get a prospect to commit. Again, at the right time and for the right reason, it should be more welcome than threatening. It can be as simple as, "OK, here's how you get started."
Never rest on your laurels: There are three(3) types of customers: New customers, existing customers and customers who are leaving for whatever reason. Too often, when things are good, we fail to replenish the stock because the customers we have are plentiful and bountiful. But sooner or later, existing customers become exiting customers, and if you haven’t been prospecting and bringing in new ones, you will be in trouble. You can't stop working. You have to push yourself. Again, to use Organo Gold as an example, with a binary sales organization system, people tend to think that if they 'just get two, they're done'. Well that's a good start, for sure! But you want to do a LOT more than that, and keep doing it. That's how fortunes are created. Doing the minimum is human nature, and that's why most people fail.
